Tiffany's has a new jewelry designer: Frank Gehry
Quote:
Tiffany's has a new jewelry designer: architect superstar Frank Gehry. He is the company's first new designer in 25 years. Designer and daughter of Pablo Picasso, Paloma Picasso, the most recent hire before Mr. Gehry, began designing Tiffany jewelry in 1980. Italian designer Elsa Peretti joined in 1974, and the late artist Jean Schlumberger was hired in 1956.

According to the company, Gehry will create six jewelry collections to debut in the U.S. and Japan in April 2006 and in Asia and Europe next fall. He will also design a collection of tabletop items.

Turner Prize 2005
The 2005 turner prize with commentary and podcasts. here
As far as I can tell Simon Starling is offering a throw back to DuChampian works by offering simple craft-like constructions and elevating them by calling them art. Yay, riviting. Here's a great quote I lifted from wiki:
In 1999 a pro-painting group of artists known as the Stuckists was formed. They show particular antipathy towards the Turner Prize, describing it as an "ongoing national joke" and "a state-funded advertising agency for Charles Saatchi"; they continue: "the only artist who wouldn't be in danger of winning the Turner Prize is Turner", concluding that it "should be re-named The Duchamp Award for the destruction of artistic integrity".
lol
